My first quiz on twentieth century American literature met my expectations in terms of user response so I am following it with this second quiz covering American literature published in the second decade of the twentieth century, that is, from January 1, 1911 through December 31, 1920. For the most part, the authors covered by this quiz remain highly regarded in American letters. In a couple of instances, an author is included because he/she wrote - if not a great book - a book of enduring popular appeal. For the most part, you are asked to identify a writer from the information included in each question, although there is some variation in the question topics. This quiz covers nine writers principally known as novelists or the novels themselves. The remaining three questions are about great American poets who published in the pertinent period. The picture introducing this quiz is of "the narrowest house" in New York City, located on Bedford Street in Greenwich Village. The house is only 9 and 1/2 feet wide by 30 feet deep. It is pictured because it was the residence of our final writer during an important period in his/her career. Oddly enough, two that I did not know were total guesses, and the one I got wrong was about a book I've read. Anyway, really fine quiz!
