A British Empire youth, and all that

As in the preceding quiz, 'World War II and all that', it's possible that Brit youngsters of my generation had a rather different upbringing than those of other generations and nations.
For immediately after WWII we still had, of course, the British Empire, and many families (including mine) were involved with that in one way or t'other.
So, until I settled down and got a 'proper job', I had a few experiences to get through.
It wasn't all fun but, on the whole, I'd far rather have experienced it all than not!
