Don't worry -- I won't gross you out - then again, maybe I will if you are really squeamish. Sometimes, it's difficult for those of us who are in health professions to know what is appropriate in other people's opinions-- we're liable to discuss ANYTHING while having lunch in the hospital cafeteria!

Here's what I'm going to so. I will give you the "case histories" of several patients. As health workers, when we see certain symptoms, we think of the diseases that most likely fit, and then do further testing to try to "rule them out." If they can't be ruled out, then that is the diagnosis. Today, you get to be the doctor.

Many, if not all, of these symptoms/diseases you really should be familiar with. But take no chances - go to the doctor, not your friendly computer, when you have a problem!
