As this quiz is being hatched, the 2009 Major League Baseball postseason divisional playoffs are well underway, and I'm in the mood for a baseball quiz!

There have been-- and continue to be-- dozens and dozens of great professional baseball players of Latino heritage, who were born in Latin America and the Caribbean. Some of the current greats are in fact starring on all eight teams that entered the 2009 postseason.

You are invited to identify the homeland of the following baseball stars of past and present. I apologize for leaving off the necessary diacritical marks from some of their names-- it could present some logistical and typographical nightmares for the good Sploofus folks.
