Although we live in a global economy, the United States, by virtue of being the largest economy in the world, has enormous influence on the rest of the world. If the United States sneezes, the world catches a cold. Well, the United States has had a sneezing fit and the germs have traveled world wide. We are in the midst of the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression of the 1930's.

This quiz will attempt to assess the culpabilty of the various U.S. corporations, government entities, policies, conditions, and individuals responsible for the current state of affairs.

Sources include Wikipedia, ask.com, about.com, Investopedia, NPR’s Planet Money blog, the AFL-CIO’s website, Executive Paywatch, and various other websites. I especially recommend thisamericanlife.org, the chapters entitled “Giant Pool of Money” and “The Watchmen.” Please do not be intimated by the length of this quiz.
