In this quiz, I will tell you a short story and then ask ten questions about the story. See how much you can remember! The story goes like this: Ten-year-old Tommy enjoyed bouncing his red rubber ball against the weathered brown clapboards on the outside of his home. Hid dog, Spot, was trying to catch the ball as it returned. His mom didn’t especially enjoy the bouncing, because it caused such a racket in the kitchen where she was preparing some apple pies for the county fair two days away. She was using apples picked from their own tree in the back yard. They also had a cherry tree, but she had baked cherry pies last year, so she wanted something different this year. She entered her delicious pies every year and always won blue ribbons because they were so good. This year she was aiming for the Best of Show award, because the prize was a paid trip for the family to Disney World for two whole days! Her husband was a clerk in the local bank and didn’t make enough money to afford such a luxury for the family. After she put the pies in the oven, she started making dinner...baked chicken, green beans from their garden, new potatoes and, of course, an apple pie for dessert. The wonderful smells stopped the racket, as her hungry son wandered into the kitchen, looking for something to nibble on. End of story...time to test your memory!
