We’ve all seen those people at local stores during the Christmas season, standing by a red kettle hung under a tripod, ringing a bell. You may or may not drop in a bit of money and continue on your way, thinking no more of it. That bell-ringer is the Salvation Army in action, with over 25,000 Christmas bell-ringers in the United States alone. I’m going to give you a bit more information about this evangelical church, which has a quasi-military structure, and I’ll ask ten questions about the religion. The Salvation Army was founded in 1865 and originally its main converts were alcoholics, drug addicts, prostitutes and other undesirables. It is well known to many because of its brass bands, thrift stores and humanitarian efforts. Good luck and thanks for taking my quiz.
