Women and the Vote
![]() |
As we in the United States are (as at September 208) about to elect a new President, this seems an appropriate quiz. The suffrage movement's modern origin can be traced to 18th century France. Many think that New Zealand, in 1893, was the first country to allow women to vote but in 1893, they were not yet an independent country - they were a governing colony. The state of Wyoming gave women the vote in 1869, still not a country. So, back to France. Fair warning, this is a very wordy quiz. Thanks to Wikipedia
